Step 4: Create A Facebook Pixel
Awesome you're page it set up. Now let's start building data on who visits your page and open up a whole new world of targeting.
Here are the steps to create a Facebook Pixel

- Click Create A Facebook Pixel
- Name your pixel, and agree to Facebook's Terms
- Click next
- Install your pixel on your website by clicking Set Up Now.
Step 5: Assign Ad Accounts To Your Pixel
Remember how we made an ad account together in step 1. We need to pair that with your new Facebook Pixel.
- Inside your Facebook Business Manager settings tab inside the Facebook Ads manager. Click on Pixels under Data Sources.
- Click on your Pixel
- Click on the button that says assign Ad Accounts
- Choose your Ad Account we made in step 1 of this lesson
- Complete, they are paired.
Step 6: Integrate Facebook Pixel With Your Website
We have a few different options to set up your Facebook Pixel here.
- Use Integration or Tag Manager
- Manually Install the Code Yourself
- Email Instructions to a Developer
Obviously, if you have an in-house developer you would simply click "Email to a Developer" so you could continue prepping for campaigns. However, if you are going to do it yourself I have a few suggestions.
If you have a popular e-commerce platform such as Shopify, Squarespace, or WordPress. It is just a few clicks and you are done. Facebook will give you the step by step process when you click Use Integration or Tag Manager.
If you decide to use the tag manager, things can get difficult with setting up triggers and such. So I suggest bringing in a developer for that method.
To manually install the code yourself is not difficult, but still, I suggest having a developer do it to confirm your data is coming in properly.
Step 7: Test To Make Sure It Is Set Up Properly
I highly recommend using the Free Chrome extension Facebook Pixel Helper. This app will tell you when your pixel is firing on every page and what data it is pulling.
This is essential to making sure when someone adds to cart, you are able to see which add brought that.
As well as being able to track purchases that your ads are creating.
Simply google search for the extension and download.
It should only take you about an hour to set all of this up from page to Pixel Installation. I am saying that assuming you have your logo and business information on hand to be able to fill out your page and are using a platform like Shopify. Don't rush yourself when setting this up though, confirm everything is tracking properly with Pixel Helper at least once a week. Once you get this set up you will want to begin targeting your audience with ads. The Pixel will then be tracking all purchases and page views.
